Troubleshooting Kiwi 3 on Android

Basic Troubleshooting
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Basic Light Test
a. Plug in your Kiwi 3 and start your vehicle.
b. Verify that the green PWR light is on and the blue BT light is flashing
2. Pair your Android phone with Kiwi 3
a. Go to Bluetooth Settings and select ’Scan’ / ‘Search’. Kiwi should appear under available devices.
b. Select Kiwi
3. Test Torque
a. Download and install Torque (Lite)
b. Open Torque (Lite)
c. Select the Gear icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
d. Scroll down to ‘Settings > OBD Adapter Settings’
e. Select ‘Connection’ and verify that ‘Bluetooth’ has been selected.
f. Scroll down to Bluetooth Settings, select ‘Choose Bluetooth Device’, and select the Kiwi option
g. Torque should now connect to Kiwi 3 and your car’s ECU.

Additional Apps
TorqueAndroid 6.0 Users: System updates have caused some compatibility issues for users using Android 6.0 and newer with Harry's, Torque, and DashCommand. We have released a Kiwi 3 firmware update to fix this problem. If you are using Android 6.0 or newer please check out this step by step tutorial.
Please follow these trouble shooting steps:
- Make sure that your smart device can see Kiwi 3
- Open your Bluetooth Settings (On most devices go to Settings > Bluetooth)
- Hit ‘Scan’ or ‘Scan for Devices’
- Verify that your Kiwi is listed under paired devices
- Troubleshoot Torque
- Click the gear icon in the bottom left corner of the screen
- Select Settings > OBD2 Adapter Settings > Choose Bluetooth Device
- Select your Kiwi
Torque should automatically connect and reconnect in the future.
Harry's LapTimerAndroid 6.0 Users: System updates have caused some compatibility issues for users using Android 6.0 and newer with Harry's, Torque, and DashCommand. We have released a Kiwi 3 firmware update to fix this problem. If you are using Android 6.0 or newer please check out this step by step tutorial.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure that your smart device can see Kiwi 3
- Open your Bluetooth Settings (On most devices go to Settings > Bluetooth)
- Hit ‘Scan’ or ‘Scan for Devices’
- Verify that your Kiwi is listed under paired devices
- Troubleshoot Harry's LapTimer
- Open Harry's LapTimer
- From the LapTimer main screen select Administration
- Select Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and select Expert Settings
- Check the box next to Use Bluetooth LE Sensors
Harry's LapTimer should automatically connect within 10 seconds. If Harry's does not connect: - Go to the LapTimer main screen and select Administration > Sensor List and make sure that Kiwi 3 is displayed under engine sensors. If you do not see this go to the Add Bluetooth icon at the top right corner of your screen and select Kiwi 3.
OBD Auto Doctor
- Make sure that your smart device can see Kiwi 3
- Open your Bluetooth Settings (On most devices go to Settings > Bluetooth)
- Hit ‘Scan’ or ‘Scan for Devices’
- Verify that your Kiwi is listed under paired devices
- Troubleshoot OBD Auto Doctor
- From the OBD Auto Doctor home screen select Connect
- Verify that Bluetooth is the selected Connection Method
- Under Bluetooth device select Search/Change
- Select Kiwi from the devices
OBD Auto Doctor should now connect with your Kiwi 3 and ECU.
OBD Car Doctor- Make sure that your smart device can see Kiwi 3
- Open your Bluetooth Settings (On most devices go to Settings > Bluetooth)
- Hit ‘Scan’ or ‘Scan for Devices’
- Verify that your Kiwi is listed under paired devices
- Troubleshoot OBD Car Doctor
- Select the menu button at the top right corner of the screen and select Configuration > Connection > Connection mode > Kiwi 3
- Fully close and relaunch the app
DashCommandAndroid 6.0 Users: System updates have caused some compatibility issues for users using Android 6.0 and newer with Torque and DashCommand. We have released a Kiwi 3 firmware update to fix this problem. If you are using Android 6.0 or newer please check out this step by step tutorial.
- Make sure that your smart device can see Kiwi 3
- Open your Bluetooth Settings (On most devices go to Settings > Bluetooth)
- Hit ‘Scan’ or ‘Scan for Devices’
- Verify that your Kiwi is listed under paired devices
- Make sure that your smart device can see Kiwi 3
- Turn off your engine
- Remove Kiwi 3 from your OBD port
- Restart your phone
- Firmly plug Kiwi 3 back into your OBD port
- Start your engine
- Launch DashCommand and click Connect again.
